BOYCOTT TEVA
I am a customer of your pharmacy and am requesting that you provide alternatives to Teva pharmaceutical products.
A genocide is being carried out before our eyes in Gaza.
Nearly 85% of Gaza's 2.3 million people have been displaced, over 35,000 people have been murdered and 7,000 people are missing. 72% of those killed have been women and children.
Hospitals, schools, mosques, universities and homes have been leveled. Humanitarian aid has been blocked. Babies in incubators have been left to die. People have been cynically corralled and generations of the same families have been brutally slaughtered.
The United Nations has warned that 1.1 million people are facing a "catastrophic" lack of food: we are on the precipice of a famine.
In February the International Criminal Court ordered the Israeli state to take all measures to prevent a genocide. Since that ruling, Israel has continued to kill innocent civilians and block relief attempts. These are the activities of a rogue state intent on finishing their genocide.
In the face of international complicity, communities are taking unilateral action to demonstrate that we will have no association with the state of Israel, or those who enjoy advantages generated by the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries is an Israeli multinational company who, according to the Who Profits Media Center:
Teva enjoys the advantages generated by the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands allowing the company to exploit the Palestinian market. 'Quality and Security reasons' in conjunction with economic and political justifications create a Palestinian captive market for Israeli and multinational companies... Teva meets little to no competition from the cheaper generic drug industry, as a result of the Israeli Ministry of Health restrictions on drug registration in Israel and their enforcement on the Palestinian market.
We fully support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign as a democratic and non-violent means to provide practical support to our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
We are calling on local pharmacies, local health and social care commissioning groups and members of our democratic institutions to stand with us and cease procurement of Teva pharmaceuticals and source alternatives.
We refuse to be complicit.
